Pond Walks

Welcome to the Illiana Garden Pond Walk 2005

Lansing, Illinois

House #1

Date of Creation: 1994 to 2004  •  Size of Pond: 8' x 10', 22' x 8'
Number of Gallons:   •  Inhabitants: Koi

These gardens and ponds have evolved over the last 10 years. The owners started in 1994 with an 8' x 10' pond. Since that time it has been rebuilt and enlarged it to 22' x 8' with two waterfalls and a bridge leading to the greenhouse. This pond features Koi from 6" to 20".

The small pond was created to sit next to the Gazebo that is adorned with trumpet vines that flower all summer long. The vines provide the pond and gazebo with shade for a variety of plants such as ferns, grasses and clematis.

The formal pond in the center of the yard was built to house lilies and serves as a butterfly garden.

The last pond was added 3 years ago in the front yard, under a 35' Blue Spruce. It features a 5' high waterfall. The gardens feature many perennials and flowering trees including a 10 year old Wisteria that produces an abundance of flowers in the spring.

Last year a Mediterranean patio was added that is host to many containers filled with flowers, trees and bushes. All ponds built and maintained by Water's Edge Aquascaping.
