Welcome to the Illiana Garden Pond Walk 2006
Lowell, Indiana
Pond #13
The two ponds were designed, constructed and landscaped by Frank & Carol in 2004. The upper pond is a 14' circular form, is 24" deep and holds 1700 gallons. The lower pond is approximately 33' long with a width of 8' to 28' a depth of 2' to 3' and holds 8000 gallons. Both ponds are fed by a 15 foot stream which cascades and steps down, and finally drops into the upper pond. The upper pond then drops into the lower pond over an 18-inch water fall. The pond is circulated by a 3500 gph pump. The ponds are home to many frogs and goldfish, many of which were hatched here, and snails. The ponds are situated on what used to be a ravine and can be viewed from many angles, and heights. The ponds are surrounded by many trees and flowered terraces, and grassy hills. There are many whimsical figurines that are about and in the pond.
