Pond Walks

Welcome to the Illiana Garden Pond Walk 2007

Demotte, Indiana

Pond #10

This 1 ½ acre property of gardens and outdoor living space has been a work in progress for over 10 years. Guests are greeted by the sound of the whiskey barrel water garden off the rear deck. From the deck is the view of almost a half-acre of outdoor living, including a 10-foot cedar gazebo with a newly revamped brick walkway and circular patterned floor. A preformed pond with small waterfall create the foreground to the gazebo, which is surrounded by a variety of sun-loving perennials. A child's tree-house with sandbox that has been converted to another sunny garden, and an aboveground swimming pool and bonfire pit round out the rear of the yard. An Asian-themed garden that has matured to a woodland sanctuary, complete with liner pond and 3-foot waterfall bordered by a lattice
fence for privacy, is the highlight of the back. Guests and residents both come to relax in the hammock and watch the birds and fish. All of the ponds are home to many varieties of lilies, water plants, fish and frogs. The entire back, front and side yards around the house are lit with low voltage walkway and spotlighting. There are numerous other woodland, native plant, shade and sun gardens bordering the house and property as well.
